I have a feeling the poster here is a liberal who instead of looking at market conditions simply blames the 'evil corporations' for everything that is happening with prices.
Probably. Most people like that can't understand that the food comes from somewhere and doesn't just show up on the shelf.
During the trucker strike, I remember reading statements from a woman who said something to the effect of, "I don't understand why people are making a fuss over food on the trucks, I get my food from the grocery store." It was presented as if she was serious, but perhaps it was satire. It is hard to imagine people being so stupid, then I remember I've met people before and yes, yes they are.
Many years ago there was a woman on the news saying "I dont understand why people hunt. You don't need to hurt animals to get meat, just go to the supermarket and buy it". She had no idea that the meat she buys at the store somehow did not just magically exist and rather it came from a once living animal.
Probably was her https://pic8.co/sh/wZepAv.png
