I remember well the Kneeling Position with the US Rifle Caliber .30 M1 while at MCRD. We learned lots of positions too, Standing, Kneeling, Sitting, Prone and assault from waist with fixed bayonet. Personally I like the Sitting position best with the sling wrapped around my arm and elbow on knee. Then later in Tijuana I learned other positions.
