This sort of shit is both a filter, removing from the police (or any other organisation doing this shit) anyone not willing to go along with it, and a demoralisation ritual. These people know that they are repeating lies. By publicly repeating these lies and humiliating themselves they are totally demoralised. They can now never stand on principle, as they have shown themselves to have none.

This is very dangerous. These people might look like fucking clowns, but these are exactly the sort of people who will be running the camps and executing people in fields beside ditches.
