it's just one layer above Jordan Peterson territory, but good for me at this stage of my education.
lol you got it all wrong then.
I don't really know where to look after New Discourses for now, at least to have some kind of veneer of academic respectability - I don't want to parrot other people's ideas as if they are my own. Benjamin Boyce is pretty good as to for a well measured appraisal. Unz is good sometimes, other times it appears just to flaunt it to prove they're 'free speech'.
I like James Lindsay's stuff because he's a proper academic (a mathematician by trade I think) and I'm getting a proper analysis without (too much of) the emotional reaction of so much partisan media - I just want to get to the bottom of it without having my emotions manipulated / to pollute my thought process.
My favourite insight of his has been the observation that modern (post modern) progressive doctrine is effectively actually a new religion and operates / should be addressed as such. That notion progressed me from my previous last revelation, that I got from watching Peterson's biblical lectures, on the evolutionary imperative that promotes religious thinking in the first place, into an elevated position where I can maintain some distance and think critically.
