My dear uncle lost his wife and within a few years later 2 grandchildren and his faithful dog. A Christian man at 90 years old, still sharp as a tack and physically able to put men 30 years his junior to shame, was feeling depressed and decided to seek help. So he told his doctor and the doctor prescribed psychotropic drugs to improve his mood. About two months later, after a minor argument with his son one day, he drove home in a huff and blew his brains out. As a clear minded Christian, he would have never even considered such a thing. Knowing him as I did, I have no doubt psychotropics should never be used without supervision, that is if they have any beneficial use at all.

Thanks AOU. He was a very bright and hard working man who loved his family and what life had to offer. I'm sure there are many other innocents who have needlessly died because of psychotropics, miscategorized as suicides.

So at least one of these is inaccurate. Dylan Klebold (top left, one of the Columbine shooters) wasn't on any medications or illegal drugs. HIs partner to his right, Eric Harris, was on SSRI antidepressants.

He reported to his doctor, months before the shooting, that he couldn't stop thinking about killing/suicide. Fucking doctor took him off of that SSRI... and then gave him a prescription for the SAME SSRI UNDER A DIFFERENT BRAND NAME, SAME DOSAGE AND EVERYTHING.

Autopsies found no trace of illegal drugs in either kid, only therapeutic levels of the SSRI in Harris, meaning he was taking it like he was supposed to. Doctor is at least partially responsible for the killings he committed.

Harris and Klebold? They sure did, shot themselves in the head after their dumb little rampage petered out. You might be thinking of another incident.

Cops had brief shootouts with these idiots, but they killed themselves after about an hour and half since the beginning of their attack. SWAT team found them like 3 hours later, because no cops entered the building.

This is the first I've seen or heard of paddock on the psycho drugs. Also wasn't aware of some of the others.

Dylan Klebold was not on any medications. Erric Harris was on an SSRI antidepressant, though.

He was on Lauvox after he and Dylan broke into a van and stole some shit, over a year before the shooting.

One day, when Harris was seeing his doctor, he told the doctor "I can't stop thinking about killing people or maybe myself". So, surely, the doctor tapered him off of that medication, right? Maybe put him on something different?

Lol no, they took him off the Lauvox... and then prescribed him the same exact drug, same exact dosage, under a different brand name. The autopsies on both shooters: no illegal drugs found in their systems. Harris had "therapeutic levels" of this SSRI in his system, meaning he was taking it regularly as prescribed. They did find a wooden pipe on one of their bodies, but not even marijuana was detectable in their bodies.

His brother and his asian girlfriend confessed he was on medications around the time of the shooting.
