You and I both know the real answer is because women with kids are less desirable than those without and roasties know it, hoping to sucker someone in.
Back in the 90s when my brother was little, he would get strapped to the steering wheel of 4-wheelers while my dad would go off-roading, older kids in the seats. He had a BLAST spinning around.
Kids are never too young for an adventure.
Because I have kids (over five) and grandkids, all successful and on the straight and narrow (thus far), the least of my concerns is how I will get on in my (soon to come) old age.
Haha. What twaddle. As if the modern parenr could afford that, and somehow someone with same income and no children couldn't.
As if the modern parenr could afford that,
It's not about being able to afford that. It doesn't cost much to go on a bushcraft weekend. It only takes preparation and creativity.
You aren't wrong, if you already have the stuff, and paid time off, camping is cheap. With value brand gear But quality gear isn't, cheap, neither is time off work. Camping should be more than just being homeless in the woods under a tarp.
When I budget for huntinf/fishing trips, lost wages is the largest expense. By far.
Different places, different seasons, different priorities.
