Yup. ADHD meds fucked up my brain, even after I stopped them.
Care to share a bit about that? I know someone who is young and thinks he has ADHD and is considering treatment, I would like to try to keep him away from it.
What I know is that the drugs for ADHD cause brain damage and become a permanent need. I took them for about 2 years before I found out. On them is great, but it's basically meth.
There are a lot of coping strategies. 45 min of hard exercise per day, meditation/prayer, and diet (no processed carbs) helps a lot. Having a place for everything. But also remembering that they will forget rote actions and then think they lost their wallet when it's sitting on the shelf as it should.
Consistency is key. If they can get someone to babysit them, all the better. If they are alone... oof.
Thanks for sharing, that does describe his situation and some stuff I tried to get him to do. I guess getting him to research the meds to see all the side effects might put him off.
