THIS, nothing on the standard America diet is in danger of extinction, if we started milking and eating them regularly they would be safe... eagles too, put it on the plate instead of turkey! I imagine the natural docile nature of the critter may have an affect though.

buffalo are no longer endangered and are farmed in some areas.

There used to be a farm down the road from me that had a couple dozen but they weren't smart enough to keep them contained and they kept ending up wandering down the road. They ended up having to get rid of them.
