THIS, nothing on the standard America diet is in danger of extinction, if we started milking and eating them regularly they would be safe... eagles too, put it on the plate instead of turkey! I imagine the natural docile nature of the critter may have an affect though.

There used to be a farm down the road from me that had a couple dozen but they weren't smart enough to keep them contained and they kept ending up wandering down the road. They ended up having to get rid of them.

There's closer to 100 million cows in the US today. I mean the point still stands, but some people will get hung up on the number and ignore the point if you get the number wrong. (the~40million only accounts for those that have been matured into dairy or meat production and doesn't account for calves and heifers that are still being raised)

Cows convert CO2 into methane. CO2 stays in the atmosphere for hundreds or even thousands of years. Methane only stays in the atmosphere for at most 12 years.

Because we had cows on this Earth in the 60s, there is far less CO2 and greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere today. It's the same with the cows we had in the 70s, 80s, 90s..... By having as many cows as possible today, our children and our grandchildren will live on an Earth with far less greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere.
