I think it is more of a bell curve. Look at vaccination for example, the 2 most likely groups to not get the shot are the very dumb and the very very smart. You probably just know more dumb people than very smart people.

I base my opinion on the plethora of absolutely retarded conspiracy theories that pop up on the internet. There used to be quite a few of them on Ruqqus before they went bust. 4Chan has a lot but I don't go there anymore. Voat had some. This place has some sometimes but it is not as bad as others. In the real world, few people have any conspiracy theories besides the obvious ones like "the 2020 election was stolen."
