Try it with white puzzle. Mean all pieces have just white color.
White puzzles can be a tiny bit easier because your brain only has to look for shapes then. The one that almost led to weeping and fist-sized holes in the drywall for me was having my brain making up patterns with "Dalmatians. Double-sided, no edge pieces, and with extra pieces added."

We grew up poor enough that we'd collect bottles and cans from the neighborhood for the deposit, then buy puzzles from the thrift shop for one or two dollars. We'd do them (usually 500-2000 pieces) upside down on the glass table top to make them last longer. Anyone who chose to cheat, and look at the underside got bullied mercilessly.
