I guess that Brandon handlers, mean part which have intelligence higher than rotten stump have something else in his mind. Fact that numbers of guns in citizens possession are much higher than government have mean nothing in reality. Governments ( around world ), have trained people, and most important, they have organization, logistic to effectively use his weapon. With current level of government surveillance is almost impossible to organize efficient resistance against government terror - illegal behavior. Fact that some agencies are involved in "terrorist attacks" prove that citizens aren't problem. Why else they will be involved in some cases if there are "real and present danger".
Couple dudes with beer belly which march with his AR 15 aren't threat to any serious government.
Also, gun violence - crimes are product of crumbling society. Exactly same people which ruin society now offer "solution". Which will not solve crime and violence on streets. Ask people in UKanistan.... Knifes, acid, bats, etc. can be deadly too.
So, I guess that behind shenanigans with gun regulation are just psychological terror, or like people love to say these days: psyop. THEY want to destroy human soul, THEY one by one strip people from his rights. THEY nonstop destroy traditional values and introduce his bullshit as obligatory way of living. Result is demoralization, people which are confused, desperate, hopeless, weak creatures which are good prey.... Guns can't to guarantee safety, but somehow people feel secure, without this ( mostly illusionary feel of security ), people will totally depend on government provided protection. Blah, blah, blah.......

Since Barack Obama became President gun sales in the United States have skyrocketed. Late last year, Fox News reported that since Obama took office in January of 2009, Americans have purchased over 100 million guns. Gun production in this country is up by 140%. Stop the censors, sign up to get today's top stories delivered right to your inbox Permit applications have increased 270 percent for women and 156 percent for men since 2007. On Black Friday last year, the number of background checks performed by the FBI was 185,345. This particular statistic means that people are not only buying guns for home protection but are carrying them in public for personal protection. All these statistics have led gun manufacturers to join with the National Rifle Association (NRA) in creating an award for President Obama and his administration. Because of his anti-gun rhetoric and public fear that Obama will one day make guns illegal, furthered by Democrats in the House and Senate and by Democrat candidate, Hillary Clinton, sales are through the roof. According to Wayne LaPierre, Executive Vice President of the NRA, the NRA and gun manufacturers around the world will present the President with their new “Gun Salesman Of The Year Award” – if they can get him to attend the ceremony. “We feel the President should be recognized for his exceptional sales abilities,” LaPierre said during a press conference on Thursday, at which he unveiled the award. “Without even trying he has caused our membership to grow exponentially and caused gun sales to exceed all expectations. It’s only fitting he should be recognized for it.
Unintended consequences or sheer machiavellism? Stupidity or malevolence?
Many such instances where you can hardly tell which is what... It's a fact
Now, when it comes to america and honest citizens, guns are and will be useful against looters, vandals, and various criminals roaming the country... Hunting also, range shooting/hobby, material for product review on youtube... A domestic market, an industry...
Which is already that, it's something. Now beyond that I don't think it's going to be of any use to put an end to the current dystopian/tyrannical system. I even tend to think it has a perverse effect when it comes to it; "If they come to take my gun I will..." meanwhile, as long as this doesn't happen like in a movie, everything goes, everything gets a pass. So in the end it becomes kind of an excuse to do nothing else but wait, it's the symbolic red line that never gets crossed and the "system" plays with that
Personally, I don't have desire to own weapon. First, in my country taxes are very high for my taste.
Second, weapon is rarely near hand when you actually need it. Know many cases that someone have gun.... in other room when.....
Third, your right for self-defense is very limited. Don't want to go in details, but according to law makers someone who is seriously endangered, without warning must react very ... calmly and shoot very precisely to avoid any serious wounds... no matter of circumstances. Which make gun ownership little senseless, what is point of owning gun? Second, weapon is rarely near hand when you actually need it.
Which take me to next point. I grown up listening stories how in US. people have much more freedom for self-defense with firearms. But, reading and watching about different cases these years I get impression that situation in US. is not much better, in some cases even worse than here. They accuse even guy which fire warning shot. I will be shot directly between ears in his situation... probably. But this dude chose to shoot in air, although he is big danger, yet they find ( political ) reason to prosecute him.
So, this is even more relevant question. What is your right to actually use weapon? So, when nigg... mean burglar broke in your house in middle of night do you will use weapon against big, drugged scumbag and risk to serious wound or mortal shoot intruder and risk everything. They can arrest you, and you can get on long expensive trial, this will probably destroy your family, you will lose job, kids, house, etc. maybe go in prison. How many common people will choose this route. I don't talk about you.... I mean in general. If people start to fear to use his weapon, this will be end. In this point gun ownership don't have any sense.
I see what you're talking about
Now to balance your analysis, I would say that reality, isn't a controlled environment, and that we take a lot of things for granted, such as the existence of the gov itself for instance, law and order, etc
What about when it ceases to exist almost overnight? For X reason...
In those circumstances... If a bear farts in the woods and nobody's there to hear it... Did it ever happen?
