Lol. Do you also pull the trigger 2x when locked in place?
It doesn't work unless you do
Yes. I used to do it with corded guns too.
Fuck yeah I do

Fucking DeWalt discontinued the 18V NiMH cells in favor of incompatible LiION cells. They make a shit-tier adapter that will drain the battery just sitting there.
All of their old tools are literally useless unless you want to take a chance on third-party batteries.
The third party batteries aren't bad. But really, the 20V tools are the shit. And the 60V tools are fucking fantastic.
But I miss how the old batteries were like magazines.
I don't disagree with you that higher voltage batteries make for a better tool, but I have a few 18V tools in decent shape that I can no longer get OEM batteries for. The fact that they wholesale discontinued them is bullshit - other manufacturers seem to be still making older packs for their devices.
I wouldn't care if they made an alternative or an adapter that worked, but reviews of the OEM converter device suggest it drains the batteries just sitting there. They must be using an always running switch-mode supply with no current detection to do the conversion.
Yeah. The converters aren't a good idea. But NiMH aren't quite as explodey as lithium batteries, so 3rd party batteries aren't such a bad choice. (And 3rd party 18V batteries are cheap.)
I made the switch to rigid just bc the lifetime warranty on batteries. Not my first choice, but I run through at least 1 drill/1 Sawzall/1 grinder every year plus batteries. It will save at least 150 bucks a year.
literally the correct recommended usage.
they assume you know this already which is why its not written in the manual which you dont need to read anyway, because, you know, man.
The only one I've ever seen is down at home depot, though Manuel is spelled differently in Spanish.
