My gym setup cost me about $4k total, power rack, bench, barbell and dumbells, and an elliptical for the wife that I use sometimes. Oh and I made my own cable machine (pully with cable, mounted onto the top of the rack) out of Home Depot stuff and a cable machine plate holder.
