Lol, because he can. There's no other logical explanation than I can think of. "Fuck a green new deal!" as he leans on the throttle envisioning florahydrafukacarbons pouring from his exhaust. Or something like that.

[–] 2 pts

If only they were 2 strokes.

[–] 1 pt

I guess if the plan was just use 1 or two at a time, for longevity rather than speed?

[–] 1 pt

He's more likely saying fuck the coast guard while performing sea transport of pharmaceuticals. It looks like he's trying to have a speed boat that doesn't appear to be a speed boat from a distance.

[–] 4 pts

I don't have the fluid dynamics software to prove it, but that has got to be counter productive. At some point you stop going any faster and just burn more fuel and create more turbulance.

[–] 0 pt

What I was thinking. The coefficient drag has to crazy on that boat. Seems more than 3 would be ridiculous

[–] 0 pt

My intuition says 4 evenly spaced would be a reasonable trade off but there are definitely deminishing returns .

[–] 0 pt

4 seems toe would provide crap turbulence and would only work if two motors power a single jet drive unit using dual drive units. Dual prop quad motor system to complex and useless . A tri setup surely would be a tits setup but 6 smh fuck no

[–] 0 pt

It might be drag rather than turbulence, since the turbulent water is behind the boat. Turbulence would be more in play if the motors were side mounted as well.

[–] 1 pt

It's the same thing. Turbulance behind the boat sucks the boat back.

[–] 0 pt

Drag, being the resistance to forward motion by the engine components in the water would not be the same thing as turbulence. Turbulence, being a chaotic system would eventually reach a limit but drag increases infinitely with the number of engines introduced to the system.

[–] 0 pt

Yeah, he needs to spread them out a bit.

[–] 0 pt

The holeshot is ridiculous though!

[–] 0 pt

Probably jumps out of the water like a spooked fish.

[–] 3 pts

photoshopped?

[–] 2 pts

yes, literally just copying and pasting, the lighting is wrong, the perspective is wrong, the last engine is just hanging over the side.

yeah probably, he wouldn't be able to carry enough fuel to go anywhere that he would want to go

[–] 0 pt

He could putter around the Marina! LOL

[–] 1 pt

No, look up the scout 53. I just can't imagine someone deciding they would rather maintain 6 outboards over 2 turbo diesel inboards.

[–] 0 pt

Fuck you money doesn't care. If you're worried about maintenance, 6 engine boats are probably not for you.

[–] 1 pt

Looks like one of those click bait earthmoving machinery videos with a thumbnail that has a mining truck with 20 sets of wheels or some shit.

[–] 1 pt

Someone hasn't heard of diminishing returns. Half of those props are dead weight, and another one is providing maybe 10% more thrust.

[–] 0 pt

I figure tri configuration is most one could benefit from

[–] 1 pt

"We're gonna need a bigger gas tank"

[–] 0 pt

As a side benefit, that many props probably do a decent job of saying "Fuck off ya big chompy fish!"

5 mins of fun for 500 charlie

[–] 0 pt

Nice of him to let everyone know he has no clue what he's doing by leaving the bumpers out for us.

[–] 0 pt

Well he got money though right

[–] 0 pt

That's like 200k worth of outboards.

This thing looks like the Flint Stones car in the thumb nail.

[–] 0 pt

Fluid dynamics on this thing suck.
