Defund the police is just bad marketing. Because it can easily be interpreted to mean stop funding the police. Its intended to mean something like, stop sending the police to do shit that has nothing to do with police. A lot of police time I wasted dealing with... A certain type of crazy. Not violent problem sociopath, but nuisance crazy. And then because pigs aren't trained to deal with the literally retarded, or senile or crazy we get a suboptimal outcome. Send cops for crime, and pay them for that, and stop paying them extra, to deal with extra bullshit doesn't sound as catchy as "defund the police" though
