That patch says that she is in a medical unit, not a combat unit. An infantry/armor/etc... battalion has a combat medic platoon. Those guys (and yes, they were all men) were tough. She's in a medical unit, but it is just as likely that she has some other job: paperwork (actually that is all military jobs), truck driving, etc...
