This is why I have always felt like someone WANTING to be President or leader of any country is a stupid idea. Leaders should be drafted, leadership should not be sought out.

If the point is to have more qualified leaders and less of a popularity contest, then how do we implement that. What safeguards prevent gaming the system and the people having no say in the end? I like the idea of a rotating ruling class, but the problem is that the requirements will be proof of completion of some officially sanctioned indoctrination.

Term limits would be a good start. And the ability to recall all politicians, even the president, would help in keeping them accountable, once elected. Also, make their bank accounts public, so any 'dark money' coming in could be immediately questioned.

That is so true. I've thought many times on what would be the best way to have a civilization run best so no one is lacking. I've come each time to the same conclusion, impossible without making sure everyone does what needs to be done correctly. That requires complete control and humans do not want to be told like children what to do and it fact will do the opposite just to spite the person.

So no it will always require a controlling mind. I couldn't do the controlling since it is so demeaning to the workers. I don't have that I want to put my will over your existence type of ego in me.
