Sure it's not super dirty, but the combustion of coal is thermally 33% efficient, and EVs use electricity at 70% efficiency, giving coal powered EVs a whopping 23% energy efficiency, not even including the power losses of moving that electricity in huge lines, is far less efficient than the 37% for gasoline and around 40% for diesel. Not to mention the immense strain on our electrical grid. Smugness ignores that, and puts a custom license plate that says stupid shit like "EVkleen" "noemssion" or "noOIL" I know because I see this shit every day in the silicon valley, usually driven by some entitled indian fucker that cannot drive if their life depended on it.
