"Disturb the earth"

It's a fucking rock. It is not bothered by human activity.

I’m referring to humans being affected by the material exposed through mining that enter our bodies and affect our health. It’s not normal to have high concentrations of arsenic, lead, etc pollute our community that cause health issues in the population. Usually these materials are isolated from our habitat but when we disturb it and it enters our food chain or contaminates our water then it does pollute our environment. Mining is necessary but it’s not like it’s a clean process like you’re suggesting. Here’s a picture from a community that I worked in next to a massive open pit. I imagine that eventually dust will cover it and plants might grow again, maybe?

You seem to be implying that the brown areas are toxic and either killed plants or won't allow them to grow. I don't think that is true at all.

By comparison all other energy sources cause far more harm to humans, so by any reasonable definition nuclear is the cleanest and safest.
