That's because basic security is cheap, and that's all most places are willing to spend.

I wouldn't argue against that.

But a casino having no released video footage of major shooting?

Forgive me for not being a stupid enough bird to believe that.

You'd be stupid to believe they didn't have video. They absolutely did, and it "vanished."

You'd be stupid

Not going to argue with you on that one

Especially as casinos invest a lot in surveillance to catch cheaters. Of course they would have high-resolution video cameras everywhere. I wonder if it is technically possible to see if digital footage has been downsized from high-resolution, rather than low-resolution in the first place?

.The sheer liability of it all makes no sense.

I worked at a bar that had facial ID tech in 2019. Why wouldn't a casino have that shit?

High resolution cameras are cheap as hell now. Even the crappiest of phones can do better than the image above.

Fuck, I am old enough to remember the Las Vegas shooting having no video afterwards.

$10,000,000,000 vs $300

You silly bugger.

I want to know how they can transmit images that far but I can't make a call in an elevator.

Farrasay cage of an elevator shaft in a modern building. It's surrounded by concrete and rebar Any new buildings even have cellular boosting systems, with antennas on the outside of the building, to ensure signal propogatea through the interior.

Not really much interference between space and here, compared to the strength of the transmitter and receiver on a telescope, vs a cell phone

My security camera is much higher quality but the only people on it have faces black as pitch. You can't make out facial features even with the floodlight on them and maybe they know that or maybe they just don't care.

Is this the guy who planted the pipe bombs at the DNC and RNC headquarters, causing the Capitol to be evacuated, giving the lie to the accusation that the Jan. 6 protestors interrupted congress in its duties.

companies still mount cameras 20 foot up in the air.

so congrats on the grainy video of someone's bald patch....

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is expected to cost NASA $9.7 billion over 24 years.

Spend $10 billion on a security camera and it will be crystal clear.
