Same. There are plenty of autists that say otherwise and think the movies took some of the books' concepts too literally (E.g. The Eye Of Sauron becoming an actual eye), or added too much slaptick... They're great adaptations, IMO. Even the cut Scouring of the Shire gets a nod during Galadriel's scene with Frodo.

I prefer them to the books and rewatch a couple times a year. Tolkien was a genius, but his writing was stuffy and full of purple prose.
