Until we can recharge batteries as fast as we can fill a tank with gas, electric cars are just a play-thing.
Also, until car battery banks can hold enough of a charge to deliver over 300 miles of range towing a trailer in the middle of winter in Montana. We're not quite there yet.
Or getting across the southwest desert in summer. Run out of charge in 130 degree weather - that is deadly.
Yeah, I tried to make that point a few days ago on another post and some guy started ranting to me about crossing the frontier in covered wagons and shit...
The equivalent to that is having the horse die every week / few hundred miles.
