One time my wife parroted the "women retire with 30% less than men" so I said let's take me and you for example. I've been working and paying into social security since I was 16 with no break, I've been paying a lot into my 401k at my new job. 12% of every paycheck plus my employers 6% match and an annual 401k bonus from work. I'll make more when I retire than I do now of o stay one the grind. I asked her how long she's been paying into S.S., not very long because she went to college for music, switched to become a teacher, didn't like that and is now getting into the medical field. Asked her how long she's been paying into her 401? She didn't even know she had one. I asked her if any of this was my fault? And if I had any better treatment or opportunity than her? She now agrees women retire with less because of women not looking out for their own personal future.
Your story is the perfect example of how women need a man to protect them from their own whims. It's nice that she got to study music and try teaching but she would be in bad shape if she didn't have a hardworking husband.
By design so the rats can push UBI and a bailout package for retirement
