Feds and glowies invented the term conspiracy theorist to discredit people who didn't believe the official story about the Kennedy assassination, knowing they couldn't simply make a ministry of truth and cancel people on twitter they had to shut it down by discrediting people. Until the last decade this has been the strategy for controlling information and public opinion; discrediting sources is ideal but discrediting groups is much easier as you can put words in the mouths of a group to discredit them as a whole and they can't sue for defamation or conspiracy if they arent organized and if they are organized you can put plants in and eventually turn it into controlled opposition by taking it over.

Can't discredit a source legitimately? invent a scandal and black ball them, if that doesn't work kill them or lock them up.

To discredit a movement or group you just need people who speak the truth to speak obvious untruths to be spoken from the other side of their mouth.

Ultima thule, hyperborea and inner earth nazis escaping beyond the giant's eye in antarctica are fun theories based on something but inner earth is fiction. Atlantis makes sense as a sort of Greco-Romanesque civilization of about the technological advancement of late qing dynasty inhabiting atlantic islands about 13k years ago when the sea levels were different, the eye of the sahara is a perfect match for the capitol of atlantis and surrounding mauritania was underwater as recently as 13k years ago but I could be wrong, there probably was some civilization but maybe it was quite meager and its refugees from a tsunami resettled inside the mediterranean sea and on the canary islands. Either way the case is super cold and likely fruitless so I only bring it up to point out that I never bring it up myself when trying to convince people, especially normies, of any modern conspiracy.
