It stems from the birthing business pushing unnecessary cesareans. Natural birth cannot be scheduled. (Inductions are known for amplifying the pain and putting one at a greater risk for tearing.) With a C-section, a sequence of very important hormones is bypassed. These hormones affect everything from bonding to healing to initiating milk production. Serious abdominal surgery also adds more challenges. Even those that do start breastfeeding after a cesarean are far more likely to switch to formula within the first three months. Those who do not breastfeed are more likely to experience postpartum depression/rage.

Edit to add that even if you have had a C-section in the past, a natural birth may still be possible.
