Those types 'pride' (accomplishments) are okay if they are pleasing to God and conscience.
And if you yourself find them pleasing? After all one can accomplish without feeling pride. Like a machine, not human.
And what about accomplishments like getting rich? Or powerful?
>And if you yourself find them pleasing?
The Lord's people will find accomplishments pleasing if they please God. That's lawful.
But anything done without faith is actually just self-pleasing, so, as the puritans say, it is a sin for a heathen man to pray and a sin for him not to.
It's complicated. We won't have all the answers this side of eternity (but let's actually get to eternity), believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.
(but let's actually get to eternity), believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.
Before Constantinople was renamed to Istanbul, this might had been the last thought of the Christians over there.
And when the west dies, because it can't feel pride about itself and stop loving the weak, this might be the last thoughts of many Christians here too.
Judeo-Christianity is a sick ideology to comfort losers. Shaming the successful and strong is just part of making losers feel better about themselves.
What matters is what is the truth, not what our opinions are.
And I mean the real objective truth, however the results and real world outworkings of that truth are perceived by you and me and all mortal and defective men to be.
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked, who can know it."
I've got to run, I hope you and I both find the truth, whatever that (objective) truth is.
