As is pride. Pride is not just a regular sin. It's a cardinal Sin. And in the Judeo-Christian worldview, it might just be the most sinful out of all sins.

If you can see any virtue in pride at all (a cardinal sin!), you might not be a Judeo-Christian.

Christianity makes it very clear that it despises the rich and successfull. And that it loves the sick, weak and orpressed.
Orthodox Christianity might not done shit like selling indulgence, but I believe both share this sentiment. As do the political correct, who love the weak and orpressed. And despise the strong, healthy and beautiful.
There's so much wrong with the Roman church (or as we call it the papacy) besides indulgences.
The main offense is the 'employment' of other entities besides Christ alone for salvation. Priests, Mary, saints.

Every cardinal sin has it's corresponding virtue.
For lust, it's chastity.
For pride, it's not "good pride". Neither is it parental pride nor national pride. It's humility.
Okay, well give me the alternative word then that you would use if a parent were to say "I am proud of my son."
Like I said, it would be better if we had a better word to use since indeed the scriptures do condemn pride.
Since we don't, it's not right to condemn (instruct maybe) those who use it in good conscience.
You and I are splitting hairs. As we both are sinners and condemned if not redeemed by the blood of Christ, we should focus on more important things.
I don't know about you but I have vices, just as everyone does (some vices are worse than others) that if I do not excise from my life I might be in big trouble.
If I'm truly saved though I will get victory over them. Romanism is basically works unfortunately (and works alone will damn you), and you never know if one day you're okay and the next you're not.
Once saved though, one is never lost, and although 'works' do follow salvation, a true believer will make it to the end in spite of missteps and failings which will plague a Christian all the days of his life.
Why not read the works of the Reformers and puritans?
