It's also incredibly stupid from the perspective of people who are trying to "save the environment" since almost all livestock is raised on land that isn't suitable for growing crops, which takes, all in all, a lot more water and energy than livestock do. And the people who do it because they're sad for the animals (which I agree with to an extent with factory farming practices) are just sad for the animals because they've never done any hunting or animal related food prep on their own.
