Just because an animal can eat it doesnt mean people can. 2common examples around here that im sure youre familiar with. Snowberries will make you sick but chipmunks, bears, grouse etc eat them. Elderberries are fine after being cooked but eat them raw and theyll fuck you up. Bears eat raw elderberries though. Hell, some animals can eat a rotten carcass, their systems can handle it. Ours cant.
