Gold should just say "literally anything physical".

Anything you can hold is worth more than fiat or bitcoin or crypto.

Money and currency only mean anything after you trade it for the thing you want.

I tend to buy ammo by the case. A couple of years ago I purchased a 2,000 round loose case of Lake City M855 5.56 ammo for 24 cents a round. My wife didn't like it. Six months later, during the ammo panic, when 5.56 green-tip hit $1.04 a round, quadrupling in value, I held up one in front of her and said: "You see this? This is now 'money'."

Too few people understand that, dunno why.

Bit coin is fiat currency.

No, you can't hack it, but you can track it and silver to the owners and confiscate it by force.

Lol, track mah PM's? LOL Shit's gone bro. Went fishing with it, it's gone. Prove me wrong.

Hate when that happens, and it happens to a lot people I know who bought gold am I right?

[–] 1 pt

You think it won't happen to you. Fuck, mistakes were made.

Not if you dump it in your secret hole in Kola.

Is there some database of gold and silver ownership we don't know about?

[–] 0 pt

If you buy online through an exchange or using a credit card, sure.

I got lucky. When we bought our first hose and demolished the kitchen down to the concrete floor and studs we found several ammo boxes filled with silver that had been stashed by the owners before the owners we bought it from. We knew it wasn't the previous owner because the neighbors told us she was a meth head and that shit would have been long gone if she had known about it.

Gold and silver always lose value because they're being mined all the time.

You can buy crypto that is directly tied to gold.

Eventually we'll have robotic mining of sea water -- not mining of the sea floor, mining of sea water. The water will be passed through processors and the gold will be extracted. Do you know how much gold there is suspended in sea water? It's a lot.

I bought gold back in 2012 and it was a terrible investment decision. If I had bout BTC instead it would have panned out much better.

Ammo is worth more than gold, and way more useful.

[–] 0 pt

It depends on how bad it gets.

yes good luck carrying your gold when you need to flee. or breaking it into amounts that can be used for everyday purchases.

btc>gold. hey ppl shit on the internet when it came out too.

Flee? What the fuck kind of cowards do they let on this site?

[–] 0 pt

the kind that think gold is actually fucking useful to the average person.

[–] 0 pt

How fucking retarded would you have to be to think that most lusted object in all of human history will suddenly lose it's value. The average nigger is smarter than that.

Ok in a survival situation, what can you do with gold? You're going to smelt some and patch up your Rolex? You're going to fabricate some heat reflective panels?

Ok in a survival situation, what can you do with gold?

I'd bury it, memorize the stars at the location correlated to landmarks. I'd then go find food/shelter/security. Fightout the next year moving from woods to woods. Finally settling down after most people have flamed out. I'd join up other and start to rebuild cities. Then after a generation, I'd go get my gold and use it as collateral in trade for whatever currency is in use at that time. I'd start to generate income with my newly acquired assets, setting up a buisness for my family and community.

Survival food and gold are not mutually exclusive though, I have both.

I'm going to build a life size statue of myself with it. I have no idea what you mean by "survival situation". Like there is a shooter at the mall, what are you going to do with you gold now?
