My family has cats that are incredibly loyal. One can be really skittish, and the other almost acts like a dog, personality-wise. Both warmed up to me on my second visit lol

We call one of our cats a puppy because he likes to lick you and will literally entertain himself for hours playing with a wire toy. I've never seen a cat play with a toy like that by itself before.

He is also an excellent alarm clock because he will come wake us up at 7am sharp every morning.

Cats are fickle creatures. If a neighbor feeds them better and pets them....they have a new "owner". Cats are never owned.

Dogs are great. They have specific purposes.

Cats are also awesome, as they have different specific purposes.

A lot of people love dogs and understand them well. Unfortunately many of those people don’t understand cats as the personality of cats stands nearly opposite that of dogs.

But cats can be loving and loyal to a crazy degree. Recent research also shows they’re much more intelligent than previously thought. But again, they serve different purposes than dogs.

I love our dogs. They’re great and fun to be with. But I also love our cats. The cats absolutely show their affection to a great degree - yes, even outside of providing them food. And the cats fulfill their purposes well.

So there really should be no competition between cats and dogs. They’re all wonderful animals. Some for some people and some for other people. And some people can love both.

The best way to honor a cat you loved is to get another. And if you can get two. Two cats isn’t any more trouble than one and they’re happier.

My cat is dumb as a bucket of rocks. Meows around his food bowl like he is starving even when it is full.

Try different food. Cats get bored of the same food all the time. When I buy dry food I buy like 50 pounds at a time but of many different varieties. Then I mix them all in a big tub. Cats love it cause some of them like some of the food and other like other kinds of food.

Do the same with wet food. Never the same thing twice. Your cats will eat better and be healthier and happier.

But ya sometimes they are dumb. Still love ‘em.

I take him outside sometimes and he just eats grass. We have some wild Alliums on the lawn, so I keep him away from those, but he just keeps on eating grass.

So he is stupid, because he identifies as a vegetarian when he is actually an obligate carnivore

I have posted before I know about there being more feral cats in Tx than hogs, They also have about a ten mile range, which is alot. Fuck those motherfuckers.
