I don't think our ancestors were that different.

The bible wouldn't have called gluttony, lust and sloth cardinal sins if people weren't always prone to be fat, degenerate and lazy. You don't have to be religious to acknowledge this.

What changed is that democracy and internet empowered the masses. In the past, powerful and intelligent men had open contempt for the unwashed masses. Now, they are at the mercy of cancel culture and have to pander.

What are talking about, they were totally different. Only within a century have people changed dramatically. Just look at photos from the early 20th century. People dressed modest unlike today. Look at photos of them at the beach. All covered. Even only going back 40 years ago people were skinny. Obesity wasn't a thing until around the 90s. Society has become very backwards and it only started getting exponentially worse starting in the 1960s.

The Kamasutra is over thousand years old. . Europe is littered with nude Statues. .

You are right. Our ancestors were not as obese. But they couldn't just go to the supermarket and buy pounds of refined sugar, now could they? As such it's not as if they wouldn't have loved to stuff their face with sugar and fat.

And yes, a few generations ago we used to dress more modest in our particular culture. .

And that's kinda my point. I believe most were not modest because they wanted to, but because they were forced to by their rulers. That's no longer possible, because modern technology in particular the internet has drastically empowered the masses.

I'm curious, why do you think the Bible, an ancient text, calls gluttony, sloth and lust cardinal sins if people haven't always been naturally drawn to these sins?

My Ancestors aren't Asian. I'm talking about the Western world. Sodomy and pederasty in Ancient Greece was never celebrated. Even the ancient pagan Greeks understood it was disgusting and wrong. Today it's seen as a virtue. The nude statues and painting I don't know enough about as to how people responded to this in the old days.

Sugar and fat doesn't make you overweight. Eating too much makes you overweight. Yes, you have a point that food is much readily available today. Plus the food producers have figured out how to make food taste really good so we eat more. Different times.

And why was modesty strictly enforced? What's next, walking around nude will be allowed? No one will force them to cover up?

What you're doing is projecting modern values (which are quite different from people of old) to their time. This is what so many modernists do. They try to pervert the past. They can't believe that common decency existed because they are so perverted in the mind themselves. Granted there were very wicked generations in the West's past, but that's like pre-Christianity. Of course people are prone to evil. It's the result of original sin. We are living through arguably the most perverse and wicked generation in history right now, but there were good generations for thousands of years. People believed in Christ. Yes, people sinned but they still understood right from wrong for the most part. They had Christ as their moral compass. Today, Christ is not their moral compass. Instead it's a talmudvision, marxist government, marxist teachers, marxist big tech, marxist press.

The Seven Deadly or Capital Sins are the root sins that stem other sins. For example stealing comes from greed. Looking at pornography comes from lust. These capital sins each have a contrary virtue. Practicing the contrary virtue helps armor you against the deadly sin.
