We got pretty lucky that Tonga explosion didn't cover the world in ash tbh
It didn't even get close. What will it take for you to realize you were lied to about what happens when a volcano erupts?
They literally whipped you up into fear telling you "if this erupts it could be the end of all life". It erupts. Nothing happens. Instead of realizing you were massively mislead and adjusting the way you think to be less of a fool you throw your hands up and proclaim "wow that was close"
What the flying fuck
What about krakatoa? It blew up real hard.
Did it? I wasn't there. I don't have any way of knowing if the stories they tell are true.
What I do know is that when they lie they often claim that thier lies are based on irrefutable science and anyone who does not believe is stupid. Yet it is still a lie.
What I know is that when it seems like there would have to be thousands of random people all deciding to tell the same lie in reality it is one person telling a lie and a thousand sheep repeating it. Academia has no credibility left.
What I know is that when there seems like there is no reason for then to lie that is no guarantee that it is not a lie.
But we can not assume everything is a lie. What we can do is trust our own powers of deduction above all else. What we can do is remember who lied to us in the past.
So the 1816 explosion of Mt. Tambora was just fake news? https://scied.ucar.edu/learning-zone/how-climate-works/mount-tambora-and-year-without-summer
