This meme presumes that we, as individuals, control history, but the reality is that we are controlled by history. It is only a very few individuals, one in a million, who have the power to make history. Most of us are not Caesars or Alexanders. All we can do it speak the truth, stand up against the lies and injustices, and try to act in our own lives in a way that we know is right and good. History is like a river, and we are fat black women floating downstream in an inflatable boat without paddles.

Each voice of the plebs can embolden the next alexander. Without public support the risk outweighs the reward. It is important to stand up to create a collective voice to show the next alexander that there are people worth leading.

There are other perspectives, like everyone has a part to play in the whole and affects the outcome of their parts. Who’s to say who is essential and who is not?

Power.

How much influence do you have over the lives of others?

Literally every opinion they have is wrong and manufactured. Many of them even admit to wanting to be told what to think.

people fail open book tests regularly at a certain level as the texts become unhelpful if you haven't already mastered the material.

That’s a good point. Sometimes open book exams are the hardest; if you know you have an open book, you don’t study as much as you would with a regular exam and then, you’re screwed. Paging through that book, trying to find those answers during a timed test is terrifying.

Imagine being ignorant enough of that same history to think this is new or noteworthy behavior.

The phrase "history repeats itself" was literally invented so that you can repeat it while walking away in order to avoid the same pointless conversation you are now trying to start in this thread.

There are two types of people.

  1. Those who are ignorant enough of history to repeat the mistakes of the past.

  2. Those who are ignorant enough of history to recognize the mistakes but still allow the first group to exist.

From my experience open book tests are harder than closed book. If you had the ability to memorize where some data was in your textbook and be able to pull it up in 30 seconds you'd simply already know the data you're looking for. Open book tests always end up being much harder than closed book, allocate less time/question and partial marks are harder to come by.

Reedingz Fer legit even loosers ever!
