I'm hoping we get a huge solar flare and electricity is knocked out completely for years. There are only a few manufacturers in the US of large transformers needed to rebuild the grid. It would take years. Cities would collapse into massive chimpouts. Rural towns where people are armed would rebuild and farm and hunt and America could get back to our roots. At least that's what I hope would happen.
