I was researching platinum a few days ago and realized that platinum is not a natural metal, it has to be processed and purified or created.
It's natural, just not in pure chunks or nuggets it's typically mixed up with other rare earths and they need to be separated out.
A natural element is used in order to create platinum metal but platinum metal does not exist in nature before processing it.
It's a natural element. Right after gold.
Good catalyst too (speeds up chemical reactions). That's why it's in catalytic converters.
