To be honest, I've never heard that said about cops, but I have absolutely said that about criminals.

I'm assuming its not specifically local, but catalytic converter theft rings operate rampantly in my area right now.

And sometimes the cars fall on the bastards and kill them.

Steel toed work boots work great for kicking out scissor type jacks. The hydraulic ones just need half a turn with a screw driver, if I remember correctly.

I hear this, I read this, many times. In fact, this is true. Police job are very stressful, danger. Have some benefits, advantage, but in general there are many jobs with similar salary which are less demanding. After all you will know that no one will call you in middle of night because there is some "situation" and you must appear in station ASAP. This is not fair.... but they chose this job. Just like criminals.
