Imagine the smell
The smell is there regardless of hairstyle.
But it makes it so much worse, you've obviously, quite fortunately, never been near a chimp with this shit smear hair.
How the world has changed. "Back in my day", boys couldn't have hair past their collars (and shirts had to have collars), no facial hair, I believe there may have been a limit to sideburns (as a female, it didn't apply to me, so I don't remember). Toward the end of the 60s, these rules were relaxed a bit. We girls still had to wear dresses, but we pushed the limits by wearing culottes.
Not sure how the pictured hairdos would've fared lol! Don't think "ethnic" hairstyles were a thing, though.
