Second, you've been duped by the very jew media you castigate, hippies were an outlier blown out of proportion by hollywood and the media (just as blacks are shown disproportionately), most of 'us' were fine, the sock hop soda pop basketball and auto shop of James Dean fame was very much alive and well. The few alleged hippies we knew we called plastic wannabe hippies and they were nothing more than dysfunctional kids from dysfunctional families, more interested in the idea that pot and LSD could give them an identity more than anything else, something they didn't have at home.
