There are still sections of Detroit with 120-year old wooden water pipes along Jefferson Ave and the Detroit River.
In one of the counties next door, traffic congestion has been a major problem for 2 decades at least. Best they'll give us is a few round-a-bouts that can't handle the traffic volume. They refuse, REFUSE, to add lanes or do anything at all to ease congestion. Your 15 minute trip takes 45 minutes to an hour, waiting in stop-and-go on two-lane roads for miles and miles every single fucking day. Every year they set aside money for the roads, apparently. City money. County money. State money. Federal money. Only to ever see them patching potholes with it.
