For me to think it was an accident requires me to believe him to not be a hypocrite. Since I know he's an actor, then it is safe to assume he's a hypocrite and carries despite local laws. Since I assume he carries, it is entirely possible he grabbed his pistol instead of the prop.

If it was genuinely a prop, the bigger question is why are they using live rounds and why did no one confirm the weapon was loaded properly? I know who we are talking about, so much of this is rhetorical. We are talking about people that need warning labels on everything.

I’m assuming it was an accident but there is no excuse for that level of negligence when the hazards of blanks have been drilled into the heads of everyone on set for decades.

There is a 20 foot rule for a reason.

This is more than negligence, it’s wildly irresponsible and if this weasel tries to pretend he didn’t know or wasn’t aware he’s outright lying.

Interesting thought. You may be correct about him having grabbed his own gun

live rounds

movie set

Nope. Was absolutely not an accident.

Honestly? How could it have been? Alec Baldwin has never been mistaken about anything in his entire life.

Accidental Discharge is always Negligent Discharge.

If that fiucktard had spent 1/10th the time and energy learning about gun saftey as he has spent trying to vilify guns, that woman would still be alive.

It was not the gun's fault. It was Alex Baldwin's fault.

Guns Don't Kill People. People Kill People.

I'm guessing that the actor isn't contractually obligated to check the set props or be proficient in the use of real guns. The "kidding around" with firearms is on him though.

The person who prepared the set is also to blame. It sounds like negligence at best. My bet is a stage hand cracked and did it on purpose. Live rounds should be nowhere near a movie set. Why did they use a real gun? Why didn't they check the barrel? Why were there live rounds on the set? Who loaded live rounds in the gun? Blanks and live rounds do not look the same.

Did they do something idiotic like have the actors fire real guns for "authenticity", and then use the same guns the next day without safety checks?

How the hell did he kill one person and injure another? Did he unload an entire magazine? Was it a through-shot?

My point is this: My 10 year old child would not have made the same mistake as Baldwin and that woman would still be alive. My child is nut some gun not nor is he some prodigy. He has simply had proper firearm safety rules imparted to him. Every child knows "Look both ways before crossing the street" and it is not more difficult to know "Always keep it pointed in a safe direction. It is always considered loaded until you personally check. Keep you finger off the trigger." Any one of these rules would have saved that woman's life. Alex Baldwin acted like a child by refusing to know and follow the simplest rules of firearms but still fucked around with one. Many people fucked up here but at the end of the day the final responsibility lies with the hand holding the gun.

Accidental Discharge is always Negligent Discharge.

Guns Don't Kill People. Alex Baldwin Kills People.

P.S. - Accidental Discharge is always Negligent Discharge is actually a legal principal in many states when it comes to firearm laws. Laws that pieces of shit like Baldwin have been pushing for for years with the intent of punishing gun owners. I will not abide rules for thee but not for me bullshit. Manslaughter 1 for this asshole and nothing less.
