It's a nice poem and it adds context to the post. I find myself these days filled with a deepening sadness whenever the self-defeating reality of our ancestors wars are mentioned, especially when juxtaposed against the jingoistic propaganda that led so many young men to their deaths. It seems to me, these days, unnecessarily cruel and amounting to a taunt, being expected to swell with pride and reverie at mere mention of the abattoir crafted for their souls.
