I like to think the cross shaped scars on his body in the 2nd panel represents his increase of faith in Christ.
Well he does seem to be turning the other cheek a lot since his enemies have been allowed to pelt him with rocks since childhood.
Some times I find myself facing a task which is seemingly insurmountable, and damn-near impossible to do. Like, I seriously start getting the same thoughts a child would express when being told to clean their room. Then I snap out of it, and remember Christ. I like to think of it as the Holy Spirit bitch-slapping the stupid out of me. And then the task gets done, and I feel a rewarding feeling of having done a thing that would make lesser men shrink-away and fail.
I just had this same thought earlier, actually. Lol, which makes it even better that it was one of the first things on poal that I see when logging in, today. Nothing ever gets easier: you simply progressively get better at doing more-and-more difficult things, until the things that used to be difficult are nothing but mere muscle-memory.
