Funny, I recently re-watched an old house episode clip on youtube about House berating some anti-vaxxer. Predictable circle jerk about the oh so smart doctor making the stupid conservative patient look like an idiot. I was thinking to myself, if Dr House existed in the real world he would certainly be opposed to covid vaccines such was his autistic drive for truth and contempt for groupthink. His pro-vax stance in the show was somewhat a sign of the times 15 years ago when it wasn't so political, and also an example of midwit writers projecting their own opinions onto a character. Extremely high IQ individuals very rarely follow the consensus on anything.

Never got the appeal. Oooooh... he limps and he’s a prick and an atheist.... EDGY!

Clever scripts. Clever dialogue. Interesting well written characters. Hugh Laurie.

Now you know

It was the same three medically absurd scripts recycled over and over.

The acting was good - I will say that. Overwrought but good. Man, that’s back when I still watched a little TV. Feels like 20 years ago.

Interesting take. Example?

Not just that, but - from what I've been told by people nagging me to get the shot - their vaccine is more effective if I get one. I'm not 100% sure how that works, but that's something I've been told more than a few times.

People don't nag me anymore; it's nice. I'll tell you my secret: don't try to convince them of anything. Just ask questions, and direct the conversation in the direction of answering said questions. Socrates was/is a pimp for a reason.

Yep. That's my method, too. Don't accept their terminology. Ask them to define, clarify, be specific, etc. Never accept the premise they're expecting you to take for granted.

It won't be that bad if you get 5,000 boosters.

Don’t forgot the 6 pills per day they’re trotting out.

The old folks on medicaid won't even notice an extra 6 pills in their coctail.

House was a good show.

The idea is that the vaccine reduces your potential for horrible symptoms including death. You know the same thing as the annual flu vaccine towards the flu... even though the flu somehow now no longer exists.

With a 99.7 % recovery rate, and many people with little to no symptoms, that kind of marketing is disingenuous at best.

Imagine taking an airplane that had a 98.5% chance of not crashing

99.8

What's this flu thing? Something from before 2019?
