One of the good things in Germany was that all kids - rich and poor - went to public schools. Private schools were exceptionally rare until about 2015 when the lady let in all the muds. Nowadays more and more people are sending their kids to private schools, but still also paying for the public school through taxes.

Here, you get subsidies for sending kids to private schools. If it saves the state $x, they'll give you a portion of that as a stipend for private school. Not sure if the money goes to the schools or the parents or both.
