Tbf, anyone who knows real science (physics, chemistry, math, engineering, etc) always took medical "science" with a grain of salt

Can science ever really be settled? Isn’t that why they call things theories even when seemingly well proven, because you never know what else might be proven in future. Gravity is the best example of “settled science” that isn’t really settled.
For hundreds of years, the science was settled that using leeches and controlled bleedings cured diseases. That washing hands before medical procedures was bad. That lead was a great sweetner to wine. That feeding your nation with a grain-based diet would provide enough nutrients for them to become able soldiers to defend your nation against...
