So you're content with wasting 2 hours of your life driving somewhere to press a power button?

Can I drive my sports car and bill my mileage to the company along with lunch (at the tavern of course)? That's a nice break from cloning virtual machines and resetting email passwords. With these companies they will burn you at every chance they get, 60 hour weeks w/ no OT. You have to burn them back when the opportunity presents itself, when the whole company is dysfunctional you can only swim for so long against the tide. If you are in IT/programming you will have job offers before you can even say 'unemployment.'

If you make every inefficiency your business when you are working with contractors/data-centers that incompetent you will burn out spectacularly.

Clearly haven't worked a god-damned day in IT

Also programming, but I'm cool enough to make sure everyone's computer is on before I leave so IT guy from IT company can do his work while we're all gone for the day if he asks me to.

On that day everyone's PC kept randomly resetting after a Winblows update, I wrote that shell script band-aid to keep everyone going until cool IT guy could get there.

Although this gets irritating at times, I get called upon to solve stupid issues like "Excels is acting weird", "I hate Words, I can't even get it to this or that.." "My mouse stopped working.." But fortunately, we're a tiny company, it's not daily, so it's manageable.

Programming side, I'm the one who pings you every other day because you guys have locked me out of half the things I need to do my job :P
