It's a story about subversion and debasement I wouldn't go as far as saying that religious subversion and its subsequent debasement is the sole cause for the west's downfall Religious debasement certainly didn't improve anything and probably caused an avalanche of further debasements, religion being what binds people to each others to begin with. Now we're at a point at which there's no more up or down, men, women, fathers, mothers, they are officially just as the same. It's absolute relativism leading there, everything being equal to anything, it's a form of nihilism in the end, that just can't fly in a christian theocracy for instance, where in the bible such concepts, like family, and good and evil, sins, are literally set in stone, and the signs/symptoms of civilizational collapse are either implicitly or explicitly identified, such as widespread incest and homosexuality, murders, etc The debasement of a currency and/or economy also tend to mechanically generate debasements in the rest of society, moralm debasement included. Now what's the mother of all debasements... Hard to tell, but yeah religious debasement comes close to home
