It's one thing to point someone in a direction in order for them to get the relevant information. In life no one spoon feeds you knowledge, you have to take initiative. It's another to just demand sources if your intention isn't to gain greater understanding. The true seekers of knowledge will take all sources not as definitive, but as a clue. A fragment of the overall picture which must be pieced together correctly for the image to reflect reality.
Im all for the pursuit of knowledge and investigating things yourself but holy fucking hell you cannot learn every piece of information yourself. It would take a million lifetimes or more to research and learn all the information available to us today, nobody can reasonably be expected to know everything so i personally find zero problem with people taking shortcuts. If someone makes a claim for something to be true and i have 10 min free time before i have to pick the kids up from school i can ask for a source or scrounge jewgle for article after article of bullshit that might be what im looking for and waste hours looking things up that might not exist. Asking for a source means i can quickly view said source and jump straight into my investigation to determine if its true or not. Hell even having a source isnt a guarantee that im not wasting hours of my time reading bullshit fake news as opposed to valid valuable information. If you have information try remember where it is from so you can share it. dont be an asshat and expect people to believe what you say just because you said it, you are not a trustworthy source of information i dont care who you are, point to sources dont be a faggot.
So either take someone's word for it, or forget it. Think of it this way, you get pointed in a direction, and because of your lifestyle you demand immediate results. Think differently, think long term. You plant a seed, tend to the land, and suffer under the sun, and you forget about it, then after time that seed starts bearing fruit. Then that little seed you planted gains meaning to you, because you physically experience it.
Therefore the Master acts without doing anything and teaches without saying anything. Things arise and she lets them come; things disappear and she lets them go. She has but doesn't possess, acts but doesn't expect. When her work is done, she forgets it. That is why it lasts forever.
The point of arguments is trying to find the truth of a matter, if someone argues one side they owe it to the argument to provide evidence (sources). its as simple as that. This has nothing to do with being lazy, asking someone for sources because they make claims should be expected. If anything faggots who make claims that they cant back are the lazy fucks who need to shut up. Far too much of this bullshit going on where people talk wild bullshit and insist it is true without evidence, chances are if you are whining about being asked for sources you are a lazy faggot who cant make a good argument.
